Development Accelerator
The ROW Economics Committee created the Development Accelerator program to help link ROW Waterways Committees and the real estate community to opportunities for revitalization and partnership along ROW’s focus waterways. The program provides information and resources to advance economic growth through a multi-faceted approach, including forums, expert assistance, and tours.
This program launched at the May 2018 ROW Development Forum, which was intended to connect real estate professionals, developers and others interested in real estate along waterways to resource providers and ROW waterway representatives.
Expert Assistance
Now the Economics Committee is seeking applications to participate in a ROW Development Accelerator expert assistance program. This program provides property owners and community development practitioners with a no-cost technical assistance opportunity to help navigate the redevelopment process, explore funding sources, partnership opportunities and end use options for underutilized or vacant buildings and vacant parcels within a half-mile radius of ROW Waterways.
Specifically, this opportunity is intended for redevelopment projects that have brownfield challenges, trouble securing financing, land use/zoning concerns, weak market area, or other barriers to moving the project forward. This opportunity is also intended to help facilitate community engagement and input opportunities for redevelopment projects that have yet to formally engage neighborhood stakeholders.
