Arts and Cultural Practices Bring Beauty and Meaning to Our Waterways
Arts and cultural experiences are so much more than entertaining. Arts and culture can move us to new understandings and inspire meaningful connections to one another and our environment.
Formerly called Aesthetics, the Arts & Culture Element encompasses visual and performance art, cultural histories of the past and present, and natural beauty as mediums for engaging residents with our waterways.
ROW’s Arts & Culture Element Committee works to infuse art and artistic practices, design, and natural beauty into waterway neighborhoods in partnership with community.
Our Initiatives
Developing Waterway Spaces by enhancing existing and incorporating new aesthetic elements, arts and cultural experiences, and natural beauty within half-mile of the waterways, making sure that projects include collaboration with relevant elements and the area waterway, and include community-building practices.
Planning Through Arts & Culture by using creative practices to facilitate waterway community visioning, understanding, and inclusion.
