Funders
We sincerely thank our generous funders for supporting the collective work impacting our waterways.
Central Indiana Commnity Foundation and the City of Indianapolis hosted a CEOs for Cities Livability Challenge in 2010 that ultimately led to the formation of ROW. In 2014, CICF became ROW’s fiscal agent and has been a significant funder of its waterway activities.
The Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust has made protecting nature one of its key goals since its inception in 1997. In 2017, the Trust funded ROW as part of its Partners for the White River project to improve the White River watershed.
The Herbert Simon Family Foundation provides support for projects creating more equitable, sustainable, and vibrant communities. In 2018, the Foundation supported ROW to conduct waterway awareness and education efforts.
In 2014, The Kresge Foundation funded ROW’s efforts as the collective actively focused on creative placemaking initiatives from 2014-2016, including multiple destinations along Indy’s waterways.
In December 2011, Eli Lilly Company looked to focus their Day of Service so they brought community leaders together and the idea of “reconnecting to our waterways” or ROW was born. Lilly supported ROW to begin its waterway efforts.
Cummins Inc. has supported ROW’s work along Pogue’s Run through habitat restoration in Spades and Brookside Parks, and contributing to the restoration of an historic bridge that will facilitate development of the Pogue’s Run Trail.
