ROW would like to extend a special thanks to Linda Simmons for her unwavering support and steady leadership of ROW’s Pleasant Run Waterway Committee. Simmons has been involved with Pleasant Run since the very first meeting at Garfield Park and felt connected to the waterway through her love of this Indy treasure. As longtime Co-Chair of the Pleasant Run Committee, she has led and supported projects all along the waterway.

“Getting involved with ROW seemed like the right thing to do since the waterways feed the park.” Simmons said. “I’ve always been interested in keeping our waterways clean because I played in them as a kid.”

Pleasant Run Committee’s “destinations” approach has been one of the most rewarding experiences for Simmons. “Seeing Barth Bridge and now Spruce Bridge destinations come to fruition through true community engagement is the most positive thing to me.” She particularly notes that getting area schools and neighbors directly involved in the planning process has been key to the success of the Pleasant Run Committee.
Though Simmons plays down her own role in leading the committee to success, we know better. Thank you Linda Simmons for your leadership and dedication to Pleasant Run!
