This month, ROW recognizes Chris Corr for his hard work organizing Craig Kids Memorial Park improvement efforts. Corr currently serves as a member of Fall Creek Waterway Committee and is President of Fall Creek Place Foundation, which was created in part to make Craig Kids Memorial Park improvements possible.
Corr has been instrumental in organizing the Foundation to support fundraising and project management for the first phase of Craig Kids Memorial Park efforts: a “nature playscape,” which features play and art elements made out of natural materials.
Craig Kids Memorial Park memorializes four young boys who died in a house fire in 1996 and there has been a bench placed there in their honor ever since. The brand new nature playscape nearby allows today’s neighborhood kids to fill the space with laughter.
Corr highlights other volunteers that have helped create the nature playscape, but Corr himself is also directly involved in the work of building and maintaining the park’s new feature: “I’m out there poking around, shoveling dirt,” says Corr. “The buck kind of stops with me, so I want to make sure things are done right.”
Thank you Chris Corr for your commitment to Fall Creek Waterway and Craig Kids Memorial Park!
