This month, ROW recognizes Austin Taylor for re-energizing ROW’s efforts in the Crosstown community along Fall Creek. Taylor is the Director of The City League, an organization using basketball to create a community platform to elevate the quality of life in the Mid-North and Northeast  areas of Indianapolis.

Taylor joined the Fall Creek Waterway Committee because of its work on plans that would improve green spaces and environmental quality in his neighborhood. Taylor says, “I am encouraged by people that have vision and follow through. This group has that.  I wanted to be a part of what they were doing in my community.”

Taylor enjoys seeing people with different interests, backgrounds, and gifts come together to make an idea become reality. Recently, Taylor catalyzed a partnership with ROW and the Kheprw Institute to provide a free rain barrel workshop to 16 Fall Creek area residents as part of The City League’s annual basketball tournament community activities.

The City League have been nominated for LISC Indianapolis’s Love Thy Neighborhood Awards. Register to attend this recognition event, and vote for a ROW partner.

Thank you Austin Taylor for your energy and multi-faceted approach to community engagement along Fall Creek!
