This month, ROW recognizes Alex Umlauf for his steadfast support and valuable contributions to the White River Waterway Committee. Umlauf has been involved from the early days of ROW and has just accepted the opportunity to further serve as the new ROW White River Co-Chair.“As a child, our family encouraged play and countless hours in the great outdoors and especially in, on, and near water (I am from Michigan),” says Umlauf. “My wife and I have the same encouraging adventures for our children in Indiana.”
Alex has been a team member of multiple groups doing outreach for health and wellness in the Indianapolis community. His favorite project so far has been helping to envision, develop, and maintain the Urban Wilderness Trail and Indiana Cross Country Championship Course along the White River.
