This month ROW highlights Develop Indy, the economic development arm of the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce or  Indy Chamber.

Develop Indy focuses on business attraction, retention, and expansion to support the people, communities, and companies that make up Indy’s economic landscape.  This includes our neighbors living, working, and playing along these essential community waterway assets. Develop Indy’s Project Manager, Vincent Ash, recently joined ROW as an active member of both the Steering Committee and Economics Committee.

Develop Indy is expanding its inclusive vision for economic development in response to a recent Brookings Institution study citing a shrinking middle class and growing poverty in Indianapolis.

As part of this program, Develop Indy will be instituting new incentives for businesses addressing racial disparities, leveraging resources for community benefit, improving education, workforce training, and access to services in distressed areas – all challenges facing and opportunities for many of ROW’s waterway-adjacent neighborhoods.

ROW looks forward to collaborating with Develop Indy to support right-sized development for sustainable, thriving waterway communities!
