Herbicide Use
Although we recommend natural and manual removal of invasive plants, the herbicide may be needed to fully eradicate invasives in your yard. When using herbicide or any chemical in your yard please follow instructions on the herbicide label and wear protective gear. Protective gear includes eyewear, long sleeves, pants, and gloves to prevent contact with your skin. If these chemicals come in contact with your skin or eyes, wash with water immediately read the label for first aid advice. Herbicide can also cause harm to native plants in the area as well as waterways from runoff. To prevent this only use herbicide on a windless day when no rain is forecasted for the next few days. Herbicide products are readily available at garden supply stores for appropriate use. If used correctly herbicide can prevent regrowth of invasive plants. If herbicide is needed, consider using a professional service. If using herbicide yourself, remember to always read all labels before purchase and application.
