On November 15th, ROW partner and Pogue’s Run champion Cummins, Inc unveiled Planet 2050, a business strategy focused on the three key goals of addressing climate change and air emissions; using natural resources sustainability; and partnering so communities are better because Cummins is there. Water conservation is a major pillar of the plan, and more specific actions to move the needle on those long-term aspirations are detailed in goals for 2030. Not only did Spruce Bridge along Pleasant Run recently get two new plazas and a Great Blue Heron sculpture, but on November 16th, neighbors worked alongside IUPUI honors students to plant deep-rooted native plants that will absorb and filter stormwater runoff, reduce erosion and provide beautiful habitat for important pollinators and human neighbors alike. ROW partner Keep Indianapolis Beautiful led this community work day and provided many plants. We look forward to the new growth this spring!
