Little Eagle Creek

Little Eagle Creek is a small waterway with headwaters beginning at New Augusta Road just north of 71st Street. The creek then flows along the International Marketplace, through the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and continues until it converges with Eagle Creek just south of Washington Street. ROW is focused on the areas around the International Marketplace and Eagledale Neighborhood.

Patricia Park Improvements

In Fall and Spring, committee members and neighbors have removed invasive species and debris at this Clarence Farrington School 61 – adjacent park along Falcon Creek, a tributary of Little Eagle Creek.

Neighborhood Outreach

The committee is developing materials and strategies to reach new neighbors, including Spanish translations of ROW information and inroads to small businesses in the International Marketplace.

International Marketplace Coalition Partnership

Partnering with International Marketplace Coalition, Little Eagle Creek hopes to explore with neighbors the cross-cultural implications of waterways and waterway connections.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway Connection

This partnership is building to connect the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course, through which Little Eagle Creek flows, to local neighborhoods to collaborate on waterway solutions.

Historical Facts
  • In 1968 the Lafayette Square Mall area was built and recently, due to the influx of ethnic restaurants and grocery stores, it has been re-branded as Indy’s International Marketplace.
  • Between the International Marketplace and the Motor Speedway is the Eagledale Neighborhood, a suburban community built in the 1950’s and 60’s.
