Improve communities’ health and wellness by developing zones of active play, physical fitness and spiritual healing along the waterways

Measuring Success


Metric Promote waterways and ROW destination locations as a resource for improving mental and physical health and well-being
  • 5% increase of use of the waterways and destination locations for health and wellness by 2020 through increase use of trails, active and passive programing and installations
  • Increase community’s awareness of environmental health issues around the waterways through educational installations and/ or programing along the waterways and/or destination location.  
Outcome Healthier communities through promoting social interactions and healthy neighborhood practices in waterway adjacent communities.  



Metric Improved the perceived safety of the waterways and ROW destination locations waterways
  • Incorporated and maintain Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) features at ROW destination location and along the waterways.
  • Increase proportion of women, children and elderly using ROW destination locations
