The Aesthetics element encompasses both created and natural beauty and art.  

Guiding Principle

Use experiential sensory engagement to infuse art and natural beauty into each waterway community.

Measuring Success

Metric Incorporate new (permanent or temporary) and enhance existing aesthetic elements, experiences, and/or areas of natural beauty within ½ mile of waterway.
Goal Implement at least 6 artist-led projects, experiences, or areas of natural beauty annually within ½ mile of waterways.  Ensure each project is informed by and incorporates at least one other ROW element
Outcome Increase waterway communities’ opportunities for aesthetic and natural beauty interaction along with community building through artist-led projects.
Metric Integrate art and artist into community and/or waterway revitalization and planning.
Goal Have artist in residence and local artist database for each ROW focus waterway area.
Outcome Improve relationship between artists and communities and strengthen connections between art and people
