Our latest video focuses on the segment of the White River that runs past downtown Indy, introduces you to the community leaders from the Near Westside, and details plans for the New York Street Bridge.

In late 2014, the White River waterway committee received funding from The Kresge Foundation and Central Indiana Community Foundation to install artisan planter boxes along the bridge’s rails and architectural lighting underneath the bridge.

The City of Indianapolis is also committed to altering the bridge from one-way to two-way traffic and installing protected bike lanes. Combined, these improvements are part of a larger effort help transform the White River from a barrier between the Near Westside and downtown and make our chief tributary a magnet for community activity and investment.
